Terms of Use

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of VST Checkout, the website at vstcheckout.com and the related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, buying a product through a checkout page hosted by the Service, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What VST Checkout is

VST Checkout is a platform that lets independent software developers (“Sellers”) sell licenses for audio plugins, virtual instruments, sample libraries and similar digital products (“Products”) to customers (“Buyers”). For each Product, the Service provides a hosted checkout page, processes the payment through Stripe, delivers a license key from the Seller’s list to the Buyer, and gives the Seller a dashboard to manage products, keys, orders, coupons and notifications.

VST Checkout is not the seller of any Product. Every purchase is a contract between the Buyer and the Seller. The Seller is responsible for the Product, its license terms, its downloads and installers, support, and any refunds or taxes that apply to the sale.

2. Accounts

  • Seller accounts are for businesses and individuals who own, or are authorised to sell, the Products they list. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into contracts.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Buyers do not need an account. The name, email address and country entered at checkout are used to complete and deliver the order.

3. Seller obligations

As a Seller you agree that you will:

  • only list Products you have the right to sell, and only upload artwork, audio demos and text you have the right to use;
  • describe each Product accurately, including price, formats and compatibility;
  • supply valid, unused license keys and keep enough keys in stock; keys are issued to Buyers in the order you provided them and each key is delivered once;
  • give Buyers access to the download or installer the key unlocks, and provide reasonable support for your Products;
  • handle refund requests, chargebacks and disputes for your sales, and comply with consumer-protection law where your Buyers are located;
  • be responsible for determining, collecting and remitting any VAT, sales tax or other taxes that apply to your sales;
  • not sell anything illegal, infringing, malicious or harmful, and not use the Service to send unsolicited messages.

4. Payments and Stripe

Payments are processed by Stripe. To receive money, a Seller must connect a Stripe account through the Service and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service. Buyers pay the Seller directly: the charge is made on the Seller’s Stripe account and Stripe pays out to the Seller’s bank on Stripe’s schedule. VST Checkout never holds a Seller’s sales revenue and does not take a percentage of sales. Stripe’s processing fees are set by Stripe and deducted by Stripe.

Buyers may use promotion codes a Seller has created. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise.

5. Subscription fee

  • Selling through the Service costs US$19.99 per month per Seller account.
  • Each Seller’s first subscription starts with a 30-day free trial, which begins when Stripe onboarding is completed. No card is required to start.
  • After the trial, invoices are issued monthly by email through Stripe and are due within 7 days. You can add a card in the billing portal to pay automatically.
  • Unpaid invoices do not take your checkout pages offline, but they remain due. We may contact you about overdue invoices and may suspend or close accounts that stay unpaid.
  • You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; fees already invoiced are not refunded.
  • We may change the fee with at least 30 days’ notice by email. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the new fee.

6. Buyers and license keys

  • When a payment completes, the Buyer sees their license key on the confirmation page and receives it by email at the address entered at checkout. Keep that email: it is your proof of purchase.
  • The license key and the Product are provided by the Seller under the Seller’s own license terms. VST Checkout does not grant any license to a Product.
  • Refunds and exchanges are decided by the Seller. If you need help reaching a Seller, contact us.
  • Do not share, resell or publish license keys you receive.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, distribute malware, probe or overload our systems, scrape the Service, bypass security or payment controls, impersonate others, or interfere with other users. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Content and intellectual property

Sellers keep all rights to their Products, artwork, audio demos and other content, and grant VST Checkout a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, to show it on checkout pages and in emails). The Service itself, including its design, code and trademarks, belongs to VST Checkout and its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or stay unpaid. Orders already completed remain with the Seller and Buyer; Sellers remain responsible for keys they have sold.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. VST Checkout does not review Products and makes no promises about their quality, safety, legality or fitness for your needs.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VST Checkout will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnity

Sellers agree to defend and indemnify VST Checkout against claims, losses and expenses arising from their Products, their content, their sales or their breach of these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which VST Checkout is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts of that country, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use the courts of your home country.
